I bought a pottinger wagon recently and the cam clutch on the pto is not cutting out as it should , it only ever did light work and so was never used from new , how do you set these cam clutches.

Usually set at a figure of 2000 or 2500 etc newton meter torque setting. The Waterschied ones have a preset spring unit inside the clutch that can be replaced. Companys like Granit and Kramp have the facilities to test and set these clutches.

James, our pottinger lion power harrow did the same; I just wound back the tension on the springs a turn and it did the trick. Before it was snapping the bolts holding on the tines.

Take it to bits there will likely be 2 springs one either end with an adjuster nut.

It will be locked with a roll pin just take the roll pin out and give each end 1 turn tighter and see if that helps not very scientific but that's what a local company did on our older power harrows and it made all the difference

Go to somewhere that can check the torque setting. I know farmhand have a way of doing it. Find out what the breaking torque should be and adjust accordingly. My advise would be get it done correctly as it is a very important safety device.

Off topic I broke the drive chain on my europrofi 3 and im finding it tricky to get a new chain as it's not a standard size. I didn't try Pottinger yet who would be able to get it besides them?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
