Power Command TM175

Been looking at a TM175 (yes I know I'm mad) and it has an issue with the gearbox. The seller is foreign so doesn't have the best English but from what I can understand you can be driving along and it will stop driving, fiddle about, stop and start or something and it'll start driving again.

They believe it is a hydraulic leak internally in the gearbox causing it to lose drive. Surely if this was correct it would be a constant problem and not allow any driving?
From what I understand the power command is synchroless and the only way it can be pulled out of drive is by the ecu noticing an issue. Something like faulty wiring or switch somewhere? I haven't had a gearbox apart so just wondering if anyone here has and knows of anything internally that could cause something like this?
They have provided a video of it driving and over the couple of minutes it didn't do anything wrong.

Any opinions on the issue welcome, just don't say the tractors are awful ? (it is a yellow decal model)

Forgot to say, no codes come up when the issue occurs and they have had the gearbox apart. All clutches etc are in good condition apparently. Its a 19/6 40K Eco PC box. They say "The clutch skates but does not cut" which sounds like it slips but doesn't cut power.

Been having a similar but very intermittent fault with my TM 190 , its on the gear change between 14th and 15th . It then goes into neutral and will only allow you to limp in 7th gear . Switch the engine off, restart and it works again , it may do it again straight away or not for 2 days or even longer.
Both of the ecu's have been down to David king to be reconfigured and that made no difference, it will only occur when it's at full working temperature on the road. We think we have ruled out all the obvious things such as wiring connections , speed sensors and others that I can't remember.
This is a 50k 19/6 P.C. and only comes up with cp (clutch pedal) and no error code.
Yes I know they are not the best tractor ever built but it's what we have and it's the next thing on the list to swap, but the last 3 months of weather have probably eroded our chances of swapping it for next harvest.
If this tractor had the old mechanical fuel set up like the smaller tm's it would be a totally different and probably unstoppable pulling machine.

This one's abroad so haven't had a chance to drive it, not sure on exactly what it does and what's needed to get it driving again. Apparently no codes come up but not sure what they have done. I'd love to go have a look a look and try get the transmission H menu up to check all the switches out. I was hoping it was one of the wiring or connector issues as you said. Maybe this one does it when it gets hot so the oil is thinner and leaking past a seal on a clutch pack ?‍♂️ I just watched a video of an American lad rebuild a JCB Transmission and the seat for a clutch pack was leaking and not allowing the clutch packs to engage. This would be a 3rd tractor for us with more power than our current 115hp offerings. I believe the mechanical fuel pumps can be swapped on but expensive job.

This made me think of a mc 200 I tried to buy with a gear box issue guy has apparently fixed it now costing him 10k for 32k. Back story he has it advertised is a bit different to what he told me but it was a beast

Not really sure as don't know exact issue. My plan would be to strip it myself and dive into it see what I can find or do myself.

Yeah it's a tough one with known issues, could be anything really but right fancy the 175 even though they get a lot of flack. Wouldn't be hard worked by us, mainly cutting, raking, baling, wrapping and maybe a Fusion 3 in future. Might could even put up with the odd jump out of gear ?

What's the hours. I'd speak to the guy that runs European tractor sales hes also got cheap big hp imports.

Worse case is goes neutral down hill and you cant stop it or a massive bill.

Suppose you could always claim on insurance

Just a hair over 6500, he did have one for sale and dropped it down to 16k + VAT which we unfortunately missed by a day. Would prefer to get a good one but don't mind a project and learning stuff on the way if it's not too costly.

Yeah that would be one way out. I guess it would be worth a fair chunk in parts too.

There's risk with everything took a few months for me to find something but they come up. Only other thing I would suggest is go and see it cost to say no is a lot less than a yes

Yeah that's what I was thinking if I could get across cheaply. Have you got info on how to get into H menu or how to calibrate PC? Do you have a TM175?

Yea I had a 175 a few years ago. To get into the H menu you need the tool or know what pins to link out, there's a quick way to get into the gearbox calibration by holding up/down and then switching it on. If you do a search of the forum it's been explained a few times how to do it.

Did you get on okay with it?
I have seen the guides but most I'd seen are for RC. I was also looking at the tools but seem rare in UK. Think I read it was centre 2 pins that you could bridge with wires to get H Menu but can't find the post again.

Vapormatic sell the diagnostic plug to enter the H menu, i bought one and believe it was about 40 quid

For what it's worth, friend of mine has a tm175, several years ago was having same trouble as the OP, would stop driving at random times, under cab floor was several connecting plugs, poor connections in one of them.

That's what I'm hoping it is, do you know if it just completely stopped and flashed anything up or just stopped and started again?
