It's at a French dealer, they have split the tractor and couldn't find anything internally wrong apparently. Which is why they have said 90% sure it's hydraulic, but I think it's more likely to be electrics reading up about the TM175/190s. Person traded it in for fresh machine instead of fixing I think. My wife says I'm a pessimist but why are they getting rid surely they would have done all the simple things first ot not even mentioned it and hope it dosent fail
Be nice to see a invoice for that work. No codes, it would simply die, usually stopping and restarting would go again, the connection on his also affected the engine as well sometimes it wouldn't startThat's what I'm hoping it is, do you know if it just completely stopped and flashed anything up or just stopped and started again?
It sounds pretty similar I think, although this may have been covered since they've had the tractor split. ?No codes, it would simply die, usually stopping and restarting would go again, the connection on his also affected the engine as well sometimes it wouldn't start
Be the first place I'd check on the one you're looking at imo
They say its been split and everything internally looks in OK condition. Did it not crunch or bang etc when driving? This one is silent in the videos and drives well just randomly stops driving.I used to have a TM 165 with Powercommand box that used to suddenly lose drive when under load. I spent 6 months fiddling with wires/connections etc to try and fix it before swapping it in. Buyer was fully aware of the issues and was happy to take it, reflected in the price he gave me for it.
They put it through their workshop and stripped the box, turned out it was chewing up the gearbox casting and cost mega £££££’s to put right.
Just a warning it might not be a simple electrical problem
Unfortunately 550km away! Yeah it's got one of them, eyeing up a 2nd hand one which is relatively cheap, just need the lifting rods etc ?If its near the charente I could kick the tyres for you!!It will no doubt have one of those french hitches so make sure everything you use it with has a jack and chock of wood!!!
I don't think this one has the creep box fitted, any way to check without seeing it? Will also ask the dealer.Had gear box issues with a TM 165 and it was to do with the creep box. Disconnected and has never been any more bother. Had major issues with a TM155 this summer, and after months and many hours, including going back to the main dealer. It turned out to be 2 faulty switches one of which we changed. It was putting faults up but no sensical ones. Going lovely now.
It's a tidy one, as you say apart from the tyres. It's also the model before the yellow bonnet decals which is when issues were resolved with cooling and so on.Rather than buying a faulty tractor I'd be looking at the one at Witheridge Garage but it's a shame it's not on 650 rears
Was it putting the fault codes up on the dash or in the H Menu on transmission screen?Had gear box issues with a TM 165 and it was to do with the creep box. That looks a tidy tractor, a lot of hp for not daft money. Worth a punt.Rather than buying a faulty tractor I'd be looking at the one at Witheridge Garage but it's a shame it's not on 650 rears
Don't suppose you want to sell the kit to conversion it? We have a 190 and it would be great to remove the weakest link from the tractor.I really like them and they aren't that difficult to fix once you get into them. It could be any number of sensors making it just stop, best thing to do is to try and calibrate the gearbox once the fault has popped up, that will show up error codes that are otherwise hidden.
I have all the parts to convert one to a mechanical fuel pump at home [emoji16]
Lack of knowledge and blinkers I guess. As the tractors get a bit of sh*t I guess the dealer would try sell a new one rather than mess about trying to fix this as a trade in. They have said gearbox has been apart and no noticeable damage and that's as far as they went before customer got a fresh tractor. When put like that it does make it a bit of a daft idea and more of a gamble. Guess I was just hoping it would just be something electrical. Why would one want to buy a pile of junk and believe it’s a diamond in the rough? Surely the French lads would have it sorted if it were simple or cost effective. Are the sellers not looking for a “victim = you” for it and it’s not going to be their problem. Spend your money on a tractor that is running and has a guarantee and from people you can go back to if there is an issue. There’s loads of value for money tractors on dealer lots in the UK without going overseas. That’s not what you want to hear I know but I would run a mile from that tractor unless it was given to me for free and I still had 10k+ in my bank to spend on it to resolve issues and convert hitch etc for uk use.
On the creep issue I don't think so, it was a long time ago. Recent issue was putting codes up but nonsensical ones like 13th gear not recognised. Was it putting the fault codes up on the dash or in the H Menu on transmission screen?
