So the morons have stripped the shelves bare of anything fresh and anything they can put in the store cupboard in and around the local town, even my friends farm shop is having to sell meat they've only had hanging for 3 weeks not the usual 4 but then I saw this in the local m+s garage... :(
Top right!
Edited to say that the point I was making, not very well is that the top right on that shelf is British lamb that nobody has taken, not very comforting!

Dad went to the local Spar this afternoon for some milk , free pasty for all customers over 70.
A elderly lady had a box full of Pasta & asked the cashier whether it was Ok to buy a box full " yes have as much as you want but why do you want so much?"
Elderly lady said " I'm buying it for family up country , they can't get Pasta anywhere, it's going to cost me more to post it than buying it".

as a country we are on a 'war' footing, but the enemy cannot be seen, it's a silent, unseen killer. Therefore the population is worried, there is nothing to focus on. Add the fact we have become a 'nanny' state, so people are looking to the gov to 'sort' it out, which they obviously cannot, the importance placed, by gov, on this, is so great, that the amount of money, thrown into the economy, is almost unbelievable, but yet, people say guv is not doing enough, listening to Corbyn, saying the guv should do more, thank goodness, he is not in charge. Likewise, with people stuck in other countries, shouting 'we have been forgotten', they chose to go, odd few people stuck elsewhere, chicken feed, compared to everything else. So, all in all, hardly suprising people are stockpiling, it's one of the few positive things they can do.
After this is all over, when?, things will be very different, for a while, as nations will soon forget, and return to there 'normal' lives. Brexit ? probably delayed, with all this happening, it's not the most important thing, although, if it is delayed, we might have to pay, to sort out the EU efforts, s'''t !!

After this is all over, send everyone's loyalty card records to the police.
Lock up those who's purchases of rationed items increased by more than 100% over the panic buying period
But from when? We stocked up big time in February in case of being snowed in again by another 'Beast from the East'... and I know of several neighbours who did the same. It's no joke when there's a drift blocking the only road in and it's higher than the tractors. (y)

Popped to a local Butcher who sources locally on Saturday morning as I wanted a big joint of Belly Pork for Sunday. No shortages of Red meat he was saying sossies flying off the shelves, but chicken was tight, so I made do with 2 breasts.

I did have to chuckle and got a laugh from the customers, a lady walked in and asked for "8 mmm sausages", for a moment I was convinced she had seen the fresh batch appear in the fridge and ordered 8 metres sausages!! Now, THAT would have been panic buying...

Local Gastro pup place is offering takeaway food and drink, delivered to your door.
