Just bought 94 acre of 2nd cut 3 years seeds for £35 a acre.its came off at 6 tonne to the acre.with all costs it’s in the clamp for £15 a tonne

we did similar 2017 put about 750 ton in pit, that saved our bacon last year, policy now is yes, if the price is right, and the product is right, might not need it when you clamp/bale it, the old boys always said a rick of hay extra is like money in the bank. reckon they were right, been offered lot of hay in field, mowing now!!

Tedding x 5 times £12
rowing up £6
8 bales/ Acre high DM haylage
£8-62/ bale
Baling wrapping and wrap £6 ,75

This takes no account of crop spraying rolling and harrowing + mole control there was also firt spreading costs I did not add

My old man has always hay in the barn is like money in the bank... never took much notice until this last winter when we were paying 45 quid a bale for silage... how right he was.
