Price of post and rail

What size posts? What type of rails? ??‍♀️
Well I don’t like Octoposts and their rails. Do fence and forget do posts and rails? I just have 200m to do around my shed so I just wondered what sort of cost it would be in creosote so it would last.

Standard tantalised post and rail is a waste of time. They break off quicker than round posts on netting when the wind gets up

Fence and forget do creosote post and rail!
had a load a month or so back
D rails £7.80 plus vat
6” x 3” x 7’ £14 plus vat
Our oldest run from their stuff is 4yrs old. All still strong and as good as new with a fresh coat of creosote this summer.
Hope it will last longer than the 9 years the tanelised Fence lasted!

As an aside, creosote wasn't used for a few years, now it's back in use again What's changed ? I thought it was illegal, did I imagine it ?

You imagined it.
It is banned for use in domestic situations but not industrial.
What changed is tanalised timber was good, cleaner and cheaper until the EU banned the arsenic part. Rendering it useless. Its taken over 10 years to sink into farmers that it's useless. Farmers are slow like that. But because of the big price increase many farmers would rather still put the cheap posts in.
