1. Give it the Vulcan death grip (turn it off then back on). Often works as they get confused by WiFi esp if you have it hard wired to one computer then use another wirelessly
2. Try re-installing drivers
3. If nothing works, revert to your thread title and use it as a cooking instrument (y)

Have a look in your Windows printer queue to see whether you have a document digitally stuck there. If so, cancel it and carry on.

Thanks for your help. An automatic update from Microsoft had caused the problem. After being in a queue for an hour, finally got to talk to a Microsoft technician who sorted the problem

Do you know what they did? as have same issue?

You could try the following...
1 Open an elevated command prompt.

2 Enter the commands below into the elevated command prompt one at a time, and press Enter after each command.

net stop spooler

DEL /F /S /Q %systemroot%\System32\spool\PRINTERS\*

net start spooler

3 When finished, you can close the elevated command prompt.

Can't you still just press Start, Devices and Printers, choose your printer and See What's Printing? Then click Printer in the taskbar and Clear all Documents.

I've not got W10 yet but it worked nearly every time for me on W7. You can choose to clear one document at a time.

The other alternative is to try restarting the computer if the above doesn't work. If all else fails and as a last resort I would follow Storeman's instructions, which is the technical way of doing it, but I'd start with the simplest way possible and go from there, but what do I know, being a W10 virgin.

Printer works fine on win 7 machine but the win10 machine thinks its sent it to machine and machine has printed document. Scanning function etc work fine I was stumped and hadnt had time to look into it. Going to try storemans method when in office tommorow.

If you have updated W10 in the past week, or if you are considering doing so, you should be made aware that they are having very serious problems with it. Do a search and you will easily find an officially acknowledged long list of problems along with the advice for the majority not to download it yet. They may be quite a while before they sort every incompatibility out.
You would have thought they would have learned to better test their updates before making them publicly available.
