Hi all,

I’m a robotics engineer and project manager looking to move into the agricultural industry, and so I’m topping up my education with a masters from Harper Adams Uni. I’ve done one project already automating a tractor and now looking for a new project for my main thesis.

Open to hearing ideas for potential projects, preferably one with an actual use case, and if you’re a farmer willing to partner me o the project, even better.

Thanks in advance

Bruce

Ooooh nice. How you getting on with the project so far. I see from the link you’ve managed to do some AI development to identify dock weeds and that you’ve got the thing moving around the field, which is impressive. What OS have you got it working on? Or is it all hard coded.

Would love to spend more time on it, hence its a good opportunity for community development similar to the early 3D printer development. The first reprap printer was started by a university probably as a PhD. Lack of time and feelings of guilt if I devote anytime on the project and not my usual work is my biggest hurdle.

The Ai runs on a nvidia jetson nano which runs a version of Linux, the actually script is python which is setup to auto run on start up. The spray head relay Is controlled by an arduino which takes its commands from jetson nano via serial. I will post my code on github, I’m not a coder so it’s very basic

Have you uploaded your code already? If so what’s your git repository. I’m looking at something with vision systems and AI. Then outputting the results through augmented reality or video overlay. But could easily operate a relay instead. I know google have several picture library’s to train AI neutral networks.
