Protests: what do YOU want?

I see there appears to be some momentum to protest but @delilah is right... what are YOU going to protest about?
I suspect we all want something different as we are often divergent from each other even within each sector.

If I was in Cardiff with a banner, it would be focused on the dash to net zero and nothing else

Yep agree the actual demands are difficulut. I would focus on cutting red tape, compliance costs, simplifying regulations rather than asking for more money. Some of these things could be done via red tractor /Fawl other assurance schemes and reducing burdens there. My focus would be on those areas.

Sort of answers my point. Our messages are too diverse.
Whoever coordinates any protest needs to do so with absolute clarity (& backing of the greatest majority)

Welsh farmers seem to have their own set of requirements .

If this is going to be UK wide then the demand should be an end to the net zero green wash rubbish with the adoption of gwp*. Then all the protesters have a common goal.

Then the other matters like tb, nvz red tape should be additional demands but at least the individual protest would united.

I think welsh farmers have a fair bit to go with at the moment- that maybe specific to wales. I suspect you could make headway in cardiff Bay more easily than Westminster as well. Greenwashing not probably biggest issue for.me but any reduction, improvement and progress is good. Basically I don't disagree with either of you a unified clear set of demands /negotiation points is needed.

That's probably the thing that's the biggest threat to farming at the moment.

Without the relentless craving for the unattainable net zero, we wouldn't be scapegoats for the big fossil fuel industries and we wouldn't be threatened by the introduction of the GFC.

Having said that, there's so much sh!t thrown at us from all directions, our banners should probably be of the 'all encompassing' variety..

Adopting GWP* to assess any and all emissions. GWP100 is what everyone uses now and it massively overstates methane warming potential and downplays co2.
Gwp stands for global warming potential and assumes that methane stays in the atmosphere forever like carbon dioxide does. But methane goes away after 7-12 years and as long as its levels don't go up through having loads more cows it doesn’t cause any more warming it stays the same. GWP100 assumes it stays in the atmosphere forever and it's just plain wrong.
If we get gwp* adopted then the war on cows to solve climate change more or less goes away. Cows were never the problem and never will be. everyone knows co2 is and gwp100 makes it look like cows are actually a problem when they actually aren't.
I can't really explain how important this is.

Protest against the NFU ....they do NOT represent British Farming in the slightest way!
If you Google NFU or British Farming Union for the last week then the results are pretty disappointing.

Public awareness of the challenges and potential impact on them is key - we need organizations that are pushing this into mainstream awareness and unfortunately I just don't see this happening....

Come on NFU and Bfu, should have been shooting at an open goal for the last week.....

What are the challenges? as Rick's opening question, what do you want to see happen?
