Any hope of getting something like this new of the shelf from anywhere?, attached to a vicon wagtale, three bolts one end and standard 6 spline on other. Cover long gone and runners for bearings hammered to death!!, and would probably get new shaft and cover as cheap as a cover!

Those rubber doughnut joints were used at the rear of the gearbox or as halfshaft joints on lots of cars in the old days. Lotus Elan, Triumph GT6 , Lada NIva etc etc & also I believe more recently on Ford Sierras? Possibly even on some 4WD Mondeos? A good car scrapyard would probably find you a few for not a lot of dosh together with the yokes
