Pumlumon Project

@GTB would know more about it than me as he lives within the area and his hill is just by Nantymoch reservoir, having said that the are they seem to be working on is quite a way from him.
Dei is that Cefncoch they are involved in, if so it would all be connected to the John Muir Trust, what was the name of the guy who bought the land at Penprys and Cefncoch, he also had other farms around the country, I think he was farming in a big way up by Glashiels too.

Was it Besterman or Westerman or something

I know nothing about this I'm afraid even though I farm in the highlighted area. The photo's look local but I can't make out where they're from. The Pumlumon farmer Mike Lewis pictured in one of the photos is also a stranger to me.

btw @Penmoel I think it was Westerman who bought Cefncoch but he has sold most of it to Mike Ynys Tudor since then.

I thought Mike bought half of Cefncoch , rented the rest and Pemprys from Westerman.

Don't worry you will be "green" soon too:whistle:

Is anyone here involved in this, care to share thoughts?

Short presentation by Dr Patrick McGurn who heads up the AranLIFE project here in Ireland mentioned it.
Who's this man, I've never heard of him? TBH the whole thing smells of something and it isn't roses. BTW wasn't Robyn Benbow involved with the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust as one point?

Yes but I don't know of any Mike Lewis.

I would have thought that between the two of us, we would have at least have known of him, even if we did not know him.
All very suspect :scratchhead:

Surprised you don't know anything of this, as you have a big lump of land smack in the middle of the area.

I think the Mont. wildlife trust were initially involved in removing the sheep off three hills on Pumlumon due to someone finding some rare plant or something. Anyway, needless to say, there's now 3000 acres of hill which is overgrown with molinia and my guess is that the rare plant will have been smothered to death. The ground is so overgrown that you would struggle to walk through it.

That's experts for you. :scratchhead:

i would be interested to know why you think they are crooks, as i know some of them?

A member of this forum since March of this year this is your first post, welcome, now enlighten us.

Tell us a bit more about this then, some of us who live and farm in the area know nothing of the project or the people involved.

Do you farm in north Ceredigion??

sorry don't really know anything about it. a bit of a lurker on this forum and this happened to catch my eye as i know some people who work for Mont Wildlife Trust. They are nice enough people, i am sure if you phoned them and said you farmed in the area they would have a chat to you down the phone about what its all about??

I will try to remember to ask next time i see them and put it up on here.
