pumping in gear oil

What do you all use for pumping in gear oil to axles when gravity or the orifice is not on your side?
I'm thinking along the lines of quantities up to around 2 litres......not a pump system that transfers from 200litre barrels

I got one of these, have to unscrew the front end and fill it with 85/90 as it won't suck it up properly, but it pushes it out in short order, half a litre at a time, much better than a funnel and pipe that takes ages.

OK, thats similar to what I have.....(a Draper metal type) in the end today i got fed up with trying to get it to pump the oil through, it kept blowing past the piston seal.....I ended up taking the guts out and using it like a metal funnel tied to the bull bar of the truck.

What i had in mind was something like those 'ensis guns' that go on an airline that would simply pump it in.....wondered if anyone had anything

Buy a bottle of gear oil from Halfords with the long spout. Never throw it away and refill from a bigger drum.
Doubt you will find a cheaper method.

that looks pretty damn good......and seems like it will do that heavy gear oil too

Just looked again at the listing and mine was brand new,had a strange coupling on the end but we just removed it,we use a fair amount of gear oil 100l or so a year.

Yes the flat type,restricts the flow.

i've seen them on trucks before now.....kind of a slide-on fitting

everything I've got is old no not vintage think as the army use them they stop ingress and keep the sh!t out better

I use a 25l drum fitted with a tyre valve and a pipe. Put tyre inflator on the valve and oil comes out of the pipe

yes, good idea...... but they do tend to go balloon shaped
