I need to make some v sticky concrete soon to fill a gap between two concrete edges,

This is a cover over a watercourse I should add, with only human traffic so no structural risk to worry about.
I should add so I will be putting a timber underneath to allow me fill the gap with concrete from overhead.

Gap is 90mm wide X 200mm deep, X 1m long

Im thinking of coating both edges wtih PVA glue, https://www.topline.ie/building-supplies/building-chemicals/adhesives-glue-tapes/pva and letting it dry for a few hrs to get tacky as they say

and then when Im mixing my cement add the PVA glue to the water for the concrete

Anyone ever done similar ?

I have never used PVA glue with concrete hence my asking for suggestions.

Yeah have done it when putting a thin screed over rough concrete. No magic tricks just brush it on area you are laying and mix some in with concrete too

Drill in a few dowels to existing edges , at whatever angle you can get and that will bond everything ,

It's still there.. .....but wether that's due to the pva or not I have no idea, it's cheap and there are no downsides so may as well use it, as said if you are able to drill some rebar in then that would be strongest way

The point of brushing the existing surface with PVA isn't to glue the concrete or render or screed in place. It's just to seal the surface so it doesn't draw too much water from the concrete etc before it has cured. No idea why you'd want to add PVA to the new concrete.

As said you should drill some dowels into the existing concrete. If you can't do that because there's no room to get a drill in place you could cut a rebate in the existing concrete to give the new concrete something to hang on.

Or you could just use expanding foam.

Just been replacing slats in cow shed and there is the inevitable chip or two, was wondering if mixing some PVA with cement and blasting grit would stick and stay in place?
