I hope it was pulled because someone saw some sense and that they aren't going to throw us so far under the bus as they were just to keep food cheap at all costs, seems a bit of a swing back from the UK ag is killing the world but South American food is great for the environment mantra. Probably just a few more rational voices getting a few mins to speak rather than the same old vegan hippy sh!t.

From the BBC
"The Queen says: "For the first time, environmental principles will be enshrined in law" to "protect and improve the environment for future generations".
Measures being introduced include improving air and water quality, tackling plastic pollution and restoring habitats so plant and wildlife "can thrive".
The Animal Welfare Bill will also return, including banning imports on trophy hunting."

From the TFA’s e-bites email:

Government Tariff Schedule Fails to Protect British Farmers

Despite the joint lobbying efforts of the NFU, CLA and TFA at a meeting with DEFRA Secretary of State, Theresa Villiers. The Government has failed to honour its pledge to protect British agriculture in a no deal Brexit by announcing a potentially ruinous tariff schedule. Whilst the Government has decided that it will impose tariffs on imports of beef, poultry meat and lamb, it has decided to reduce to zero tariffs for eggs, wheat, horticultural crops and some dairy lines (including skimmed milk powder). TFA Chief Executive, George Dunn, said "Despite the warm words from various Government Ministers that they will work to ensure the sustainable future of UK agriculture, their actions say otherwise.” The TFA will continue to press the case for tariff protection for UK agriculture, particularly against products produced to standards that would be illegal in this country.

Didn’t watch the speech but there is a trascript... looks like Agriculture Bill May have been carried over. That means start from scratch again
“”My Ministers will work to implement new regimes for fisheries, agriculture and trade, seizing the opportunities that arise from leaving the European Union [Fisheries Bill, Agriculture Bill and Trade Bill].”

The previous Ag bill is dead. It looks like the UK won’t have any Agricultural policy for a few years if we leave on the 31st.

As is being pointed out, none of this will become law unless Johnson wins an election as he doesn’t have the numbers to pass any of these measures

Vote Looney. You know it makes sense

Which means what ever happens, if we leave the EU on the 31st we leave with no Agricultural policy what so ever. Which party do you trust to put together a proper policy?
