I just got my Macan S diesel last week after ordering it last August, it was well worth the wait ! If you went for a petrol version you would get the extra performance, but the waiting list is a lot longer for new and you could still have to pay above list for secondhand to beat the queue.

I didn't look around all that much, I made the mistake of hiring a Macan off Avis to drive around the Highlands last summer , then I got home, got back into my XC60 and decided life was too short.
Not that it's necessarily of concern to you but residual values seem to be very good on the macan. They don't look that good a deal second hand compared to new do they. What's it like on fuel so far?

Only doing mid to late 30s so far with 400 miles on it, but the one I hired was mid 40s so hoping it will get better. It uses ad blue as well but I was told it should do towards 10k miles before the 18l tank needs refilling. I am very concerned by the residual value , the argument for Porsche ownership is that you pay a lot upfront but when you come to sell it resale value will be higher than other makes, that's what I am telling myself anyway.

Yes, a modified rust bucket is just the thing that I would recommend too.

I think it'll be alright. The cars I've looked at in Exeter garage have seemed a fair crack for couple year old ones. The macan is a new model to so should all help. Lovely car though. Did you try the cayenne?
