I Can't see enough detail but is that broken below ground? If so doubt its rabbits

Yep, the tops on the ground are snapped off, but several are wasted below ground surface, but are then pulled up and found laying on surface.

Sounds like perhaps they have a spot of fungal disease and are snapping at the week spot when a rook pulls them?

Mine is definitely rabbits though, big circles near bank
