Rabbits

Hello, I'm starting a little rabbit "farm" (it's rather for hobby than for making money but you know). I have 4 rabbit hutches (gotta make more soon) and one female. She's been mated some days ago so I'm waiting for the birth. Grandpa used to farm rabbits so he's helping me. The question to other people that farm rabbits is - are your rabbits (or females?) scared of getting petted and do they run away when you try to pet them? I've had her for almost 1.5 week. Will she get better with petting? Or maybe the children of her will get used to me more? Or that's just the way rabbits are?

My uncle used too breed them for the local butchers years ago. He reckons he made decent money for the time he put into them of an evening. Reckons his does were as nasty as buggery!

Does get very nasty if they don't breed. I got given loads, when I used to breed them as a kid, that turned really vicious to their owners. Once bred from they were OK.
I found the easiest way to breed them was in an open shed and let them get on with it. Cull or draw the youngsters as they got big enough.
Hutches meant more work and management.
What's your market, pets or meat ?

Will she get better after giving birth? She's been mated 8 days ago. What does to draw the youngsters mean? And the market? (I'm not english, sorry). If it means what am i going to do with the young rabbits - i'm going to try selling them alive.

Yes, market means what you are going to sell them for.
Draw means to pick them out of the pen.
She may or may not get more friendly, just depends on age, breed and the rabbit. She may get worse after giving birth due to protecting her young, but calm down later.
