Had synchros go on my TM155 at 3000 hrs. only had tractor for a week at that point. Think previous owner knew they were duff and chopped it in. Fortunately the dealer stood the bill:)

If you take the time to read the operators manual, it states quite clearly to dip the clutch when changing B to C if the tractor is under heavy load.

if you take the time to read the first post properly i said under load not heavy load basically it started doing it when you have any trailer full or empty

Apologies, no offence intended. I was really just thinking and writing with interest in regard to TomB post about clutching. It does take a lot of time to read the operators manual from cover to cover......I am terrible for jumping onto a tractor and thinking I know it all, but was surprised interested at how many extra little hidden things the operators manual covered. The super dexta days are long gone.

I often wondered if that's why the synchros fail - have done quite a few - some lasted 3000hrs and some never touched in 12000 hrs. Different makes / quality of syncro perhaps, but chatting to the drivers of failed tractors, none of them used the clutch when changing ranges under load.

But there again, it is probably shunting forwards reverse which kills the most of them on range command. Power command is worth the money for sure!
