Rappa - Too much play?

My Rappa ATV winder has recently developed an annoying habit of loading the reels to one side more than the other. It is not the guides as they have not moved from factory fit.

There seems to be too much play in the accentric plate winder where at one point of the cycle there is a lot of free play and the winder stops moving across for a second. Ones it goes past that point it tightens up again.. If you look at the two videos below you should see what I m getting at.

I have tried adjusting the wire guides but I still get a bias to one side.

Is that sort of play in the wider normal or have I worn something out?

Ive owned it for 8 years and its been fine until recently. I bought it second hand so unsure how old it is.

And different point in winding cycle and not so much slack.

Mine does the same, and is newer than yours, not too bad on the level, but bad on a sidling bank. I can't see how to alter it short of moving the spool stop, but then it will be just as bad going back the other way!

Yes, a side hill makes it slightly worse. Its a pain when running wire out as the bigger hoops of line on the wider section can move and then you get loose line flapping about and can create a birds nest or catch on the wire guides.

There's a white nylon nut & bolt through the shaft that drives that plate. Is that badly worn or broken, making for a bit of slop?

If you bought it new you should have got a bag of replacements with it (I did anyway), but they should only be pennies if you didn't.

Ill check the bolt, got spares as have snapped one once.

have you managed to get to the bottom of this problem? I've developed the same problem on mine. I'm struggling to get 600 m on the reel. Tries to put half of it on the one side of the reel, loose, but the other side is tight

No answer as yet. The shear bolt was perfect. I’ve just today fitted new wire guides as thought they looked a little twisted.

Will be trying again tomorrow to see if it’s any better.

Is the drive belt twang tight? Ours played up last year and the tensioning bar had come loose and the belt wasn’t running tight. 2 minutes and it was working perfect again
