Rappa yards on 0% finance

Definitely give them a ring. I cannot emphasize how useful they are if your running an extensive system. We took the plunge last year and reckon we've paid it off in time saved! If you feel you don't have the numbers to justify one buy a compact yard and add bits on as you need/can afford too.

I havn't seen any for sale. Are you saying there is an issue?

I dont think it will be an issue, if you're keeping it anyway then it doesn't matter. (y) I think the high prattley resale value was due to exchange rate changes.

I haven't seen a rappa for sale secondhand yet, so I can't see how people think they've got such a high resale value. Have anyone actually sold one secondhand yet?

I would not buy a pen without the the vertical bars at the top of the hurdle,be it Prattley or Rappa.

If Alligator still have horizontal top rails then it's why we did not consider them. You occasionally get one which will take a leap and jump, broken legs are not the best outcome if the leg can get caught up.
Possibly an issue I suppose but in 35 odd years of patting about with sheep I havn't had one break a leg here and all our sheep hurdles and permanent handling has the horizontal top bars.

:We work these types of gates. We go round the fields of sheep, we don't have a central fanks. The sheeted one are quite heavy and the shedder is sh!t! We load them in and out of our 2nd ifor Williams. Our record is up and down 8 times in one day! But I can't convince dad a rappa would be better! He doesn't think it would save anytime? And lamb prices this year doesn't help either.

I traded in my Prattley for the same as I'd paid for it, 19 years previously. I like that kind of depreciation.(y)

They are just like Prattley yards, designed by the previous importers of Prattleys, but with a few refinements and improvements along the way. IME the race is better for drafting, especially if you're on your own, and the hurdles are stronger. I was told that RAPPA had only had one bent one in 3 years of selling them, which was replaced.

I know @reverand will be on my case again:whistle:, but do not, under any circumstances, buy an Alligator yard without at least looking at the RAPPA and Prattley yards for a comparison. If you feel that you can get away with lightweight hurdles after that, then go for it, save some money. Personally, I've had plenty of broken and banana shaped Prattley hurdles over the years, through nothing more than sheep pressure. Looking at the cheaper versions, I would have had a whole pile of bits in the same time and I dread to think how many broken dogs' legs from horizontal top rails.:(
I could afford a rappa I would have one. Taff is saying he is struggling to justify spending that sort of money, all I'm saying is the alligator is a sensible option. @neilo aaa:ROFLMAO:

I think most of us have probably been there.:(

Taff-whatever you do, never feel embarrassed about calling us! Answering questions is what we are here for and we always like to hear from farmers.

I thought it would be helpful to clarify the finance Rappa is offering. It is 12month interest free credit with the first two months as a down payment. There is a administration fee of no more than £150 –sometimes less depending on the finance house - and a termination fee of £75. As an example, our 10’ Standard yard sells for £6800 plus vat. Divide that by 12 = £566.66 per month. 2x months= £1133.33 is the down payment. There will then be 10 monthly payments of £566.66.

We recognise it’s been a tough year for our customers and many are needing to tie up cash in buying stores now-but the need for a mobile handling system hasn’t gone away. For some, this offer has proved to be a real help. As was mentioned, you do need to be sure you can make the payments.

Often, as was mentioned, there is the option buying little now / more later with these handling systems. Hope this is helpful- and feel free to give us a call.

Unfortunately I'm not in the market for one (yet) but can I ask what does a standard yard consist of?
