Rear lift problems Case 1594

Hi , we have a D plate case 1594 hydra shift and the three point linkage will not lift. Our mechanic give the tractor a complete service including the rear filter but has been stumped by the issue with the lift. Does anyone have knowledge about these machines or know what the solution is ?

On the side console there is a short lever that is the flow diverted valve for rear links and spools. One way operates linkage and spools, other way spools only, have you checked this?

Are the spools working or not, is the pump being driven because the teeth do wear away on the drive shaft and coupling, and daft as it might sound you haven't by any chance got a spool engaged with a pipe returning oil, i.e. working as a single acting valve, brake valve if fitted and then spools take preference of the oil supply.

It only needs a little bit of muck or metal in number 1 or number 10 and it can all stop working.

If it is a dual pump model it could be the combining valve which connects to the valve slices. Check it is operating between single and dual pump. The links will not work in dual pump mode If that is o.k it is most likely seals gone in the valve chest and you will have to lift off the valve slices one by one and fit new o rings everywhere. Done this on a couple of DB,s . It is a bit awkward under the cab but do able. Barcley Williams will supply all the o rings e.t.c.

Thank you, I have checked the lever but I’ll do some more work with it to make sure before I have a go at the seals
