Claimants who submitted a valid 2018 Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) claim of more than €2,000 will shortly receive a small reimbursement of the modulation taken at the time of payment.
Each year the EU modulates part of the Basic Payment Scheme monies to create a ‘crisis reserve’. The Financial Discipline Mechanism (FDM) fund is used to support the EU farming industry in times of crisis, such as major disease outbreaks or natural disasters. If the FDM funds have not been used to relieve a crisis, they are reimbursed to eligible farmers in the following scheme year.
Eligible claimants will receive a reimbursement from the 2017 FDM fund equivalent to 1.346% on payments over the €2,000 claim threshold.
Payments will show as ‘FDM reimbursement’ on the remittance advice which is being sent after the payment is made.
