I still really, really rate my Kioti. Great build quality (way better than Kubota!) and tough as old boots. Come and see mine if you want, it has had a mass of hard work and been bombproof. Only issues was electrical from a ropey control box.

I now have a cheapie Branson 25hp to replace the old McCormick, panel work build not a patch on Kioti, but a lot cheaper. I would have gone for another Kioti last year, but none about at the time.... Looked briefly at the Indian and Chinese offerings, and moved on... quickly.

Both HST which I rate in little 'uns.

Would you happen to have taken a look at the Solis 50 by any chance Steve? If so, I'd be really interested to know your thoughts/verdict on them.

Hydrostatic tranny for any kind of slow work, just not so great if you were pulling something involving a lot of draught?

I went up to Cheshire to look at a Solis in 2021 before I replaced my baby compact.

Not a patch on Kioti/Kubota/Iseki was my take, but better made and built kit than the Foton/Siromer etc Chinese tractor ranges.

I think that in the intermediate price range the Branson (Korean) and Solis seem to be on a par.

Agree, although my Kioti will pull a cultivator/chisel plough happily. I have been sold on HST since I used it first 15-20 years ago, and it really seems to work well nowadays.

Brill for all top work though... Baling and mowing is good.

What's wrong with the auld fergies. Modern compacts arent built for big hours and 50 year lifespans with the exception of maybe kubota. They're for the cooncil and look ugly as sh!t.
