Have 4 acres of red clover that we are thinking of leaving for seed and combining it when its ready . Thinking that we could add it to cover crop mixes and maybe add some to grass mixes .
Anyone done clover seed harvesting .
Not done it but don't see why it shouldn't work. Will do the soil good and save you some money. Not sure of the benefits of red clover in a short term cover crop as it's slow to establish. We are combining some rye next week we left for seed for cover crops.
Only space will be a solid concrete floor or could put it in a trailer with a spear .Storage this year is all going to be spoken for as have larger area of wheat to store . Where there is a will is a way .
Think as mentioned, getting it out tank will be difficult. Did a lot in NZ when out their 88/89 and combined had a revolving agitator in tank to stop it bridging. However, just use a industrial Hoover as mentioned above.
