Red Tractor Contractor/Owner Membership

Has anyone managed to get these newer contractor membership criteria for Red Tractor sorted? Clearly trying to generate more cash for themselves.
We are members in our own right for our own enterprise. Fairly settled that we need to make a contract farm an 'owner' member which is linked to our membership.
What I can't work out is if this can even be linked to our current member account, or whether we in turn need to become a 'contractor' member, which the 'owner' member can then link to? The application paperwork seems to suggest it is the latter of the two which seems bonkers but then it is RT.......

Unless it means that farmers who are not farm assured, can use a FA contractor for growing their crops and then sell the produce as assured ? :scratchhead:

Someone will correct me, but I think if you do all the work and day to day management on a block of land, but that land owner sells the produce/receives the money for the produce, then it can't come under your RT membership and they need to be an owner member linked to yours?

......... best for the contractor to sell the produce then !! ;)

I've always had CFA farms as members in their own right. Still a fee paying entity in each case. I administered each account and the FA inspector got to do several farms in a short space of time. Happy days for them. How does the new system improve on this?

Not really sure. They rushed it out last year and realised they’d made idiots of themselves as in theory there was suddenly lots of businesses that couldn’t of moved grain or beet. Next thing it had been rehashed so it would come into play as and when inspections occurred to be fully up and running by coming December.
