Redundancies

Businesses struggling with high energy prices, low consumer demand for certain products and as said above low confidence due to a labour government that will possibly target small to medium business.

Many businesses could be suffering with the covid hangover, their business grew during covid, now consumers have returned to pre COVID buying habits the businesses that grew are now contracting and needs to cut staff accordingly.

I think the Western world has passed 'peak capitalism'.
The way to make money has always been to employ people. The more you employ, the more you can earn per employee.
It's getting very expensive to employ people when at the same time technology is providing alternatives through AI and automated systems.
Globalisation has also, in practice, privatised taxation with the big Corps, taking a % off everything we do while avoiding tax which has caused a lack of investment in infrastructure.
This with ever more regulation makes starting up a business increasingly difficult.

I've never voted labour but without some socialist policies, a world controlled by Meta, Amazon and co. will not work much differently than communism. Choice is almost always a façade.
We'll still have to put up with these companies , labour are not going to go after them for money they will go after us peasants and let their donor mates carry on as you were 🤔

I've noticed a trend on news feeds to my phone for more and more items about 'It started as a side hustle, now I earn £XXXXX per month', to the extent I'm thinking it is all engineered to put thoughts in people's heads etc.

Yeah , everyone should have full confidence and be full of enthusiasm with the bright future ahead under a socialist gov 🙄 wtf !
Indeed and the last lot did an amazing job didn't they. :ROFLMAO:

When the current government exit (here or the UK) the wealthy will still be wealthy, the very wealthy will still be very wealthy, and the poor will still be poor.
Just the way it is, the rest is smoke and mirrors.

They'll be loopholes and lots of them in any new tax rules, always is. They could make the system simple and treat everyone the same if they wanted to, but they'd get caught up in paying then too.
Keeps lots of accountants in work.

It is true the right support business more and the left support the workers, a bit of a swing between the two isn't a bad thing.

Nah, that's just lazy clickbait content creation. No ulterior motive, just more people clicking on such headlines so more get created as their associated advertising is sold per click.
