Registering my 885 XL for a V5 document?

It appears that the 885XL that I bought was never registered with the DVLA.
I have been in contact with the DVLA on a number of occasions and I can't seem to get to the bottom of this as they want the registration number! Having told them that it has never had one, they want me to confirm it's year of manufacture so they can allocate an age related number plate.

I have all VIN numbers of the tractor - who / where is the best place to find out the age of the tractor? I would need to then send proof of this information to the DVLA and then they will finally give me a number plate....hopefully?

Somebody like a dealer or vintage club should be able to confirm the year of manufacture, if you can get it on an official looking letter dvla should accept that

The DVLA did advise that. I tried contact Case on couple of occasions but to no avail (probably have more important things to do).

Can anyone recommend a club that might be able to help?

We are in the process of doing this with a david brown we have taken photographs of tractor from the front and side back and side vin/chassis numbers
They want proof of year of manufacture etc just waiting for log book now

I had a motorbike and the v5 chassis number was to short so applied to change it and went down this hasstle with photos and proof from kawasaki uk all was good in the end log book came long winded job sometimes but hang in there

If you provide proof of year of manufacture DVLA will issue an age related number plate.
The proof (a simple letter) can come from the Original manufacturer, a Dealer or one of the DVLA recognised Tractor clubs or societies.

Whats the cost for dvla to issue an age related plate? cheers
