Removing broken timber barn upright from concrete

Request from a neighbour to 'help' replace a broken (ground level obviously) barn upright.
Treated timber is concreted into the ground within its concrete pad.
Just a simple question to see if anyone has any clever solutions to this common problem.
I expect I will get busy breaking up concrete or boring holes into the stump to try and 'collapse' the remaining timber.
Any ideas?

Had the same problem with a wooden gatepost that got snapped off, the replacement post had to be in the same position to match up with two fences and the gate. A local blacksmith made up a metre long "harpoon" which I bashed into the remains of the post and attached to the loader. Came out a treat, er apart from a bit of concrete as the post was dug in over three feet which I hadn't allowed for.:scratchhead:

Many thanks!
I would like to think that Charles and Camilla would appreciate the landside trick even if their estate assessor doesn't.
Got to the job earlier today. Plenty of rot below concrete so 15 mins with a carefully chosen bar left a nice clean 7 x 7 x 24 hole.
Wish things on my farm were as easy! Not all the time you understand, just every so often.
