Removing parlour feeders.

This is the bar in ours if your looking for ideas, never had feeders in here though. This is after 5 sides of cows to give you an idea of how much muck you get without feeding. It still happens.

Has anyone taken out their parlour feeders/trought and replaced them with a rail. We have effectively stopped using our feeders.

Has anyone got any experience?
Is leaving them in causing a problem? Are you just looking for work?
I had a parlour with no feeding and a rail, cows stand quietly, but are slow to come in. We put feeders in for convenience, cows run in,cannot say there’s any difference in exits speed, just more sh!te!

No the only other person I know who did it said that it only made a difference when he took the trough out but that was on a rotary.

If you have a zig zag rump rail it’s fine having a straight brisket rail,my old parlour was the opposite in that it had a straight rump rail and the old trough stalling minus the troughs.

I prefer the straight front rail, cows exit much faster as they don’t jam into stalls with their necks.
