Renault 696rz speed disappears off of dash

I have a Renault 696rz 2003, once it gets warm when driving down the road the speed disappears off of the dash and it limits itself to 1800rpm.
I've changed the gearbox speed sensor, I was wondering if there is a wheel speed sensor also and where it would be? It does not have a radar. Or if anyone else has had this problem and has any suggestions on what to try! Thank you

The one on the crown wheel you replaced? Did you set air gap?
According to the local dealer they gave me the gearbox speed sensor which is located in the middle of the box, down the right hand side, there's another sensor closer to the halfshaft, not sure what it's for but seems very likely to be a wheel speed sensor. The only other sensor I could find on the machine was on the left hand side at the rear, which would read pto speed I think by it's position. But yes I set airgap when I fitted the new sensor.

They have given you the wrong one there should be one on top of the rear housing just above the crown wheel
Is that the one that reads your speed? Do you think my problem would be related to the speed sensor? I can't see what else it could be unless it's a more serious problem?

Have you tested the actual sensor? It’s either going to be a two-wire or three-wire inductive proximity sensor.

They work on the same principle of operation for everything from an ABS sensor on a car/truck to a crankshaft sensor in an engine.

It's a 2 wire sensor and no I have not tested it as I haven't found the actual sensor for the speed reading, if it is the one on top of the box I will test it when I'm at the machine again
