repacement shares

Hello,

My plough is set up with some Ransomes DMD8 cast iron shares. I wonder were I can get replacements for it in the form of DMD5 WPR steel shares. The frogs are PC 1715 Z. And the name of the whole body is DMD.
Been watching Westland ploughparts for a long time but never see them in there stock.
Has Dowdeswell any? And at what price should I think?

DMD is a deep digger body and very common in the root growing areas of East Anglia. Although popular commercially they are no longer used for match ploughing as they cannot compete with YL bodies. I would guess that Westlake would have some and be pleased to move them on.

Arcobob,

I know these are not the best body's for a match, but changing them to other is a bit to costly for me.
Replacing the cast iron 10" to steel 12" should make the results better I think.

I've been trying to contact Westlake trough mail but keep getting it back with spam notice.
Has anyone the same problem?
I have emailed him and asked if he has any DMD shares. I might not get an answer because I expect he will be busy preparing his stand for the World Champs at York. If I get a reply I will pass it on. If you have any friends going to York they may be able to help.

As suspected he is very busy preparing for York. He has no stock of DMD shares at the moment but is always picking up new stock. Send him an email on his private address [email protected] but wait until after mid September.

Thanks to the help at the cranckshaft topic and dispite the DMD body´s I became second of eight at a match last satturday with 149 points.
The one at the the first place also plought with DMD on a Litrack plough with 151 points. Seems DMD is working well in our soil.
For me it was a real victory after five years of learning and adjusting the plough.
Still have work to do on it.
