Just put a small tear in a newish pair of Dunlop Puroforts about a third of the way up the side. Any Ideas on the best glue to repair them with. Already tried inner-tube vulcanising glue and Locktight vinyl glue to no effect.

I assume the Wellies in question warrant the cost of repairs, so how far are you from somewhere that is capable of mending similar damage to a tyre? Earlier in the year I had damage to a tractor front tyre similar to if somebody had stuck a pocket knife into the side. A few minutes was all it took for the tyre place to put some paste type material on the inside, blow dry it, put in water ballast and pump in air. So far, so good. Cannot remember the cost offhand, but I remember thinking it was less than the cost of fuel to get there and home again.

I successfully repaired a Dunlop Purofort boot that split in the centre seam on the heel. Used Loctite superglue Precision Max. The repair lasted 6 months before breaking down. I thought that was pretty good as it must be one of the highest stress areas on the boot; split was about 2 inches long.

Vulcanizing glue will only work on rubber boots like Bulls Eyes Try ShooGoo ,available on Amazon e.t.c.. I reckon a lot of Wellies are way over priced the way they tear so easy.

I have the same issue. Time of year?
I found during the year that there are different “glues” for patches for tubeless tyres and repairing inner tubes. Maybe the tubeless type might work? I am still yet to try it

We repair rubber rollers in a potato harvester with polyurethane bonder from spaldings not found anything it won't stick yet. It's used as a panel sealer in cars so a motor factors would have it a lot cheaper probably . Takes about a week to get it off your hands!

Back from the days when I used to get my dads hand me down Nora’s, super glue and a tyre patch, works every time, leave over night, if on an angle, put boot in vice with relevant bits to make patch attached all the way around, if there’s one bit of patch peeled it won’t last 5 minutes in cow sh1t, too much glue and it won’t stick, moves all over the place, and from previous experience will fail, not enough and the obvious happens, needs just enough, just as it’s going off, patch will hold and work then.
You do get the pee ripped out of you at market though!!
