whats the realastic cost of replacing 5 cracked fibre cement sheets and 2 ridges? had a couple of estimates both have been over 3k, the roof is 28 foot to eaves so both parties have priced in netting so full safety involved

That sounds very exspensive to me , just had 4 sheets replaced including a roof light and the ridge for under £500 it was only 14ft at the eves so was done from a box on the loader and a roofing ladder

I had one done today for £40. Put a load of straw under the sheet and then the blokes went up on walking boards along the top.

I didn't feel what we did was unsafe or irresponsible.

Needs full scaffold and netting so not surprised at cost

Had a 100 x 40 20 to eves stripped of storm damaged rubbish fiber cement and re - roofed in anti con plastersol. Was very cheap compared to 3k for a few sheets and ridges. Fiber cement doesn't seem to stop on our roofs for long.
