Mind you I kind of hung around and chatted about stuff so folk got to know me in a virtual way.
Seems to have worked out OK for most.

Cant say for certain but I would imagine a few had replies in the form of a PM rather than a direct reply on the open forum. The problem is most of those that post, post just once or twice asking for permissions and then never contribute again to the general forum which does them no favours and doesn't give anyone on here a chance to gauge an idea of what they are like.
Whereas users like @JCMaloney are highly respected and known contributors to the forum having taken the time to join in with the community so are probably far more likely to be contacted if they were after shooting or metal detecting permissions.

I replied to a lad wanting metal detecting and gave him a chance . Really interesting what he has found . Details on another thread .
I agree with the above @JCMaloney has become known by his 'traffic ' on the forum and thus gained the trust of others ....... and yet I wouldn't know him from Adam !
I have replied to some 'wanted' posts by pm and never had a reply !
