Request for permission

Hello,
I am 41 years old, and live in Bradford. I am member of the National Council For Metal Detecting (Card No 12446). I am a keen history enthusiast who loves to learn about our heritage and my goal is to add to this knowledge and to share it with others. I would like to ask for permission to access your land and use a metal detector which will be enable me to find any local artifacts and relics that may be present thus enabling me to learn more about our local ancestors which I can share with others. When I locate a target my metal detector is very accurate and will ensure that the smallest possible plug of soil or turf is removed. Once I have recovered the artifact, I carefully replace any loose soil and turf. It would be hard for you to tell any disturbance had ever took place. I am very respectful of the country code and always abide by the metal detecting code of practice which is agreed by the National Council for Metal Detecting. For your peace of mind I am also covered by public liability insurance to the amount of 5 mln British Pound. If you are willing to give me a chance then please send me an email. If you would like me to discuss things further and answer any questions that you may have then please let me know. I can come to you any time.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Sebastian

I would also like permission to come and take things from other people's property. I'll ask nicely and everything.

Our Club are very, very sad in that we let the landowner see what we`ve found & let them take their pick.
Then we do them a written report on the "stuff" they aren`t interested in!!!
Now not all landowners are interested, but many are, and its often the quirky items that can mean the most such as a bone handled pen knife we found that belonged to the current landowners great grandfather with his initials engraved in it.

The last detectorist found some lovely stuff here......then fecked off with the lot.
From now on stuff can stay in the ground for future generations.(y)
