Yes. It was all a bit weird with claims that the OP wasn't who they purported to be and a request came in to delete entire thread

TFF members Beavering away replying to Weasal words about something Stoatily different to keep the wolf from the door (some even put up Web lynx) and the OP went batsh!t crazy.

Perhaps a good enough reason not to get mixed up with surveys, but perhaps I am just a sceptical old sod, no apologies for being one;)

I filled in the (badly flawed and biased) survey. It appeared to have the presupposition that I support the reintroduction of various species to the UK. When asked to rank the species given in order of my support for their reintroduction I put Bears at the top of the list- my justification being that they ought to be reintroduced to all large urban/suburban parks in order that the majority can gain insight into the difficulties and disruption they wish to foist on the rural minority.

Oh, I said Bears were a good idea to try to control ramblists!

I put lynx down as the one I would like least and they asked for a reason so I said I thought it was probably the hardest to shoot.

I took part in the organisation of a survey for my village, these surveys were sponsored by the government of the time. I did not realise at the start that the initiator was in tensely keen on one result, a grand village hall to be her monument for ever. In my ignorance we worked on a long series of questions to ask of all residents and finally had about 80 in a four page questionnaire delivered to all households to ascertain what improvements should be made to the village. While most correspondents were actually concerned about lack of footpaths , with the presence of a busy road passing through the middle, it was the village hall which was the end result due to the slanting of the questions, such as "would you use the village hall more if the footpath was upgraded".
The result was a grandiose Village hall being built which the village could not afford and now 25 years later still no footpaths for the kids to walk to school!
