The question i would like to ask is has anyone built one or anything like it as a workshop project? as i could do with something like it but baulk at the price of buying one.
Not quite the same but I made a bracket for the polaris for using with geared reels. Only used it once but managed to put out 400m of fencing without getting off my seat. When I take fence down I will have to wind in each reel individually tho. I felt I wasn't going to use a rappa system enough to justify the price too either.

Well I think you've had very poor service from rappa then, particularly as those machines are the best part of a grand!

I haven't had a very helpful response from them in the past.

So to hijack, but if you unwind a wire from a standing post, how to you stop the reel from locking into the post, rather than free wheeling?

Why would you unwind from a standing post?
Reels unwind from the bike.
Which is how I also do it if using geared reels.
