Ride on Mower blade belt

Hi. Hoping someone on here can help.
My ride on blade belt came off the other day. I’ve tried to put it back on but can’t get enough slack. I called the company and they just told me to refer to workshop manual. I’ve seen on others about depressing the break but it makes no difference. I’ve attached pic of model and all it says in manual about replacing blade belt

Lifting the deck sometimes gives a bit more slack.
Double check it’s routed properly as they often don’t go the way that logic suggests.
It shouldn’t be under so much tension trust it won’t go on so something is wrong somewhere

Thanks. I had the deck up but will look to see if it’s not seated correctly on one of the other pulleys.

If you have a manual transmission, follow the instructions at the top, the bush with red arrow on it is simply acting as keeper. Depressing the clutch/brake should make it loose enough to come off.

Below that is the method for a hydro. This belt is constantly under tension, as it is not acting as the clutch. Take the centre bolt our and slide the pully off the shaft.

What is yours, hydro, or manual ?

Which belt is it ?

Thanks. Mine is manual. The belt was off. I managed to get one side one but the tension is so great that I can’t get it round the back of the pulley. I have tried getting someone to press the break but it didn’t make any difference. I need to have a look to see if the other end of the blade belt is caught on something or not seated correctly at the other end.

They want you to take it to the dealer to make a fortune out of you
Not personally aware of that model but suspect you have it on the wrong side of a pulley
Are you certain the tensioner is in the correct position frequently with no belt they move completely out of line

If you are talking about the transmission belt, not the deck belt, it maybe also under tension. If so, there will be a tensioner pulley in there some where, and another means of adjustment.

It appears your clutch/brake should loosen the belt, taken from the operators manual:

4.22 MECHANICAL TRANSMISSION​

4.22.1 CLUTCH / BRAKE PEDAL (Fig.
4.2 no.21.A)
This pedal has a double function during the
first part of its travel it acts as a clutch, en-
gaging and dis-engaging drive to the wheels,
and in the second part it acts as a brake on
the rear wheels.
It is important not to take too long in using
the clutch as this can cause overheating and
damage the transmission belt
