Ridge vent repair

Looking at a 35 metre long cattle shed to rent, the vented ridged has long since gone but the rest of the building is sound. Does anyone know how difficult this is to repair and where I might be able to get the parts? A couple of the sky lights have gone as well.

They were probably removed for ventilation. If you're using it for cattle then leave it as it is.
Make sure the tenancy states that the sheets are missing when you took it on.

If you really need it covered, a raised capping helps ventilation a lot.
This shed extension has a raised capping, the snow will stay on the piece with the raised capping along after its melted on the piece with the normal vented capping.

That's exactly what I am after actually, I think they fell in as these sheds haven't been used for cattle for 12 years and photo from 2012 shows half of the cap still on. Gap is about 20-30 cm.

We re roofed the right hand side of this shed in the autumn, original roof was space sheeted as can still be seen on the left and had a capping.
Moss had built up on the right until water was coming in through the gaps so we re roofed that side conventialy. Original plan was to put a raised capping back but as the gap was over a scrape passage we decided to try it a winter without. After what must have been one of the wettest winters known I have no regrets whatsoever about leaving it open, the gap is about 12-15 inches.

It's not often that the easiest solution is the best, savour it. I would offer you some of the many we've removed, but the removal tool was mostly a length of box on the end of a pallet fork.

I have a lash of the ridge tiles off a big 6 roof, only 20 m long though. Your welcome to them if you organise transport. On a pallet taking up a corner of the yard. Too good to dump
