Surprised Claydons don't offer it

Jeff's answer would be to run the straw harrow over it after drilling as a separate pass.

DD press? Would be slower as the additional power requirement limits width. I wasn't thinking of a Cultipress with the front tines in the ground, just something heavier that would squash the ridges down more.

Have done some ridgey stuff with Claydon Terrastar set in shallow mode in the past, works well, as long as seed at a reasonable depth.Ours has rear harrow which helps.

That’s exactly what triggered my idea but I couldn’t remember the drill name to Google it! Thanks.

I reckon if the chain was heavy enough it would do a good job.

Thanks for that. :D

Any good? Do they block up or make much difference?
never had mine block up either through wet conditions or trash, they do help drag a bit of soil over the slot but having been dding for a while now the soil is pretty friable most of the time, the benefit i find is moving the odd patch of manure which has been left in a lump by the spreader

Back when we had the SR Claydon we shallow drilled spring barley and knocked the ridges over the next day with a 'tume' machine with tines lifted out. The SR left bigger ridges than the Hybrid. Knocked the pitched off soil over the seed really well before rolling so think it would be a good move.
