Ring spanners

Just interested in people's opinions do find that a set of ring spanners are a useful addition to tractor toolbox currently have two sets of combination spanners and sockets but was wondering whether ring spanners would be useful as well .

My challenge is always to put together the most compact tractor toolkit. It’s like packing light for travelling. I’m still trying to refine it with the most versatile selection of tools I can find.

How about two adjustible spanners, a vice grip and a stilson, you should be able to manage with that lot .
That should be minimum enough, possibly add a hammer and a chisel as well.
Or for the really mimimalist approach use what my Polish friends refer to as a Russian spanner which looks exactly like a hammer.

The offset on ring spanner’s can be handy in certain cases. Gedore used to make combi spanner’s with offset ring but were serious money.

A concise kit on a tractor is a big deal but have to admit I do like to use ring spanners.

But double ring spanner’s take up half the storage space with a different size each end

a set of ring spanners and a set of open enders, two of every size in not much more space than one set of combinations. A lot of double end ring or open enders come in "usable" sizes designed for toolboxes.

Got a partial set of really deep ring spanners, put together for a specific machine. Still very useful.

Don’t shout at me, but I tend to have a set of those hawks beak wrenches on all my machines now, they are annoying when you don’t have one to hand, can grip any shape and round bar like stihlsons nuts etc and won’t round like an adjustable nut f****r.

The big one I’ve had a 5ft bar on, they usually have them at country shows / farm shows

Never seen them before but look a lot better than stihlsons and probably better, mite look out for some as sometimes they come in handy when nothing else does
