Hello,
Recently I purchased a Howard pre ripper which I have attached to the front of our Howard Rotary Hoe. The ripper is purposely built for this model rotary hoe and manufactured in Australia in the 1980s.
It is working well and reduces one field working for me. One problem though is the ripper has two horizontal beams lower and upper to which the four ripper tynes are mounted on. When I get some trash the wedge ripper points on a 45 degree angle uplift the soil and push the trash up to the lower horizontal beam causing blockages.
The tynes are mounted in line which adds to the poor flow of soil and trash. (They can't be staggered).
I have mulched to breakdown the trash but the uplift is still pushing the mulched trash upwards. Any ideas on what I can do here to limit the uplift of soil.
Thanks.
