See the EA and BBC are having another meltdown over some river bank maintenance... Need one every year or so.

Dave must be having orgasms...
The tree stump nearest the photographer appears to be rotten in the inside, are the rest? Wouldn't removal/felling be good practice for health and safety protocol????

Have they seen what Anglian Water are doing to the environment between North Lincolnshire and Essex ?
That’s only a tiny snapshot

Must be mad if they have done that without any say so after whats gone on. Although there was another case just after the lugg one where it seemed the land owner agreed to reinstate and nothing was heard of it again.

"I've not seen anything on this scale in terms of environmental vandalism during my career," the wildlife trust's river restoration manager Mick Mott said.

"This has caused jeopardy to a number of wildlife species, including protected white-clawed crayfish, otter, bats, birds, brown trout and bullhead fish," he added.

Well Mick Mott, you are a useless, o-less count who doesn't know enough about rivers to be in your job.

“It added that the "illegal and unconsented destruction" would take years to undo.
The area will be analysed to find ways to reverse the environmental damage.”

Walk along the banks with a bag of seed & stab some willow cuttings in the ground, walk away & leave. Job sorted.
Should I forward them my bank details so they can pay me for my thorough analysis of how to reverse it?

Quite frankly, it would actually be a challenge for anyone to stop it going back to how it was.

However, he’s clearly very good at being outraged, which is great for keeping donations coming in. ;)

You'll never hit the mark to become a civil servant I'm afraid 😌

Far to practical approach
Not enough clipboards involved
Not enough boxes ticked
Not enough ecologists environmentalists and and other ists from the old boy back scratching network of lining of pockets at taxpayers expense 🤑....

I can’t understand how they expect these grown up rivers to cope with the volume of water what’s produced today from housing/ind estates and roads etc
when rivers were 2-3 times the size 50years ago and a fraction of hard surfaces of run off
any drainage person could easily explain to them there’s only so many laterals you can put into a main drain before you need a second main drain or bigger main

But that’s common sense and it’s not very common any more.
