Road Plainings under concrete? Bad news or a myth?

some have said a chemical reaction starts if you poor straight on top which is bad news long term.

Others aren't bothered by it.

Any views here? It's great stuff to get level and firm but don't want long term headaches!?

Dont do it ,,you,ll get a nasty smell as it reacts ,,knew somebody that put it under a garage floor and building regs made him tear it up and start again with type 1

We put it down 3-4 inches thick, roll it and let it sit for a bit then roll it some more.

It goes over a foot of hard core. We will put 6-7 inches of C45 concrete with mesh in, should do the job and see me out?

Can't see why it would matter , concrete is regularly laid under tar either on road crossings or even as part of motorway construction i have never seen a barrier layer used with it , why would doing it the other way around make any differnace ?
The only real differance is the tar is in chip form as opposed to solid , in practice road planings can become at least as solid as type one although unlike type one its just come off a planer so is not as consistant as crushed stone so does not have type appoval and so in a building regs situation would not be acceptable.

If you had an option of say road plainings or dolimitic lime stone type one , the planings would in the longer term be better you would think , as dolimite softens with water, planeings being coated with tar will not suffer that long term water errosion.
