Rogator

Anyone got opinions on the Challenger Rogator sprayer? I know they had a lot of problems with the chafer boom but the one I am looking at is a 13 plate that is getting a new aluminium boom so should be fine. Any horror stories or things to look out for?

I relief drive a 2013 rogator at the moment it has 32m chafer booms and they would be the major cause of problems. Other than that the only major issue was with the bearings on the steering. When they wear it causes problems with the angle sensors so they don't track straight. It is probably the most comfortable and easy to drive sprayer I have ever sat on so if they sort the booms you will be doing ok

It was more of a problem with the steel boom being too heavy for the linkage connecting it to the sprayer, that's what I have been told anyway

It was!
The Rogator back frame was really only designed to take the Ali booms on the flat fields in Holland, as soon as they fitted our slightly heavier steel booms for the UK market the problems started.
