Rolling game cover

I sow the game crops for a neighbouring estate but him two of the plots I didn’t get rolled after sowing and ferting. They are a mix of triticale and forage rape. The rape is just starting to emerge but they want them rolled. How much will it damage the plants and is it worth it? I doubt it saying it’s obviously not having harvest machinery on it! Views?

How rough are they? Ultimately if they want them rolled, they need to be rolled. Is it the gamekeeper who wants it done? Leave a strip unrolled as a "control plot" The risk is that you snap the root as it germinates and that then kills the plant. Normally I'd say either roll post drilling or post emergence when it has a few more roots. Say you'll do it with a health warning.
