Rolling wholecrop barley

Put a field of barley in for wholecrop early May, crows had bit of a go at it and have turned up quite a few stones, been to wet to get on to roll since, now it's drying out but it's about 6/7inchs high, will the barley pick up again after rolling at this stage, anyone experience of doing this?

Lets have a separate thread for Old Wives Tales

Rolling makes barley tiller, keeping a goat prevents brucellosis, thunder ripens wheat, ploughing in the snow freezes the soil, applying fertiliser while cattle are grazing will kill them etc. etc. Any more good ones, anyone?
