Roof insulation asbestos fibreglass safe or not

Hi
We got a foot through the ceiling from the loft and this insulation fell out along with making a big hole. I was reading online and became worried whether this could have asbestos in it as so much dust and rubbish fell out everywhere and the insulation is still open until we fix it. (Picture attached).I have little toddlers and worried if this could have asbestos in it and the particles could be breathed in by my family. Would anyone be able to identify what type of insulation this is? Is it safe and if it not safe and is in loft where we were planning to store some things, is it okay to or not? Would landlord be aware if there was asbestos? Thankyou.

Asbestos insulation was banned a long time ago. If your house is fairly new as it looks like it as it has a chipboard ceiling then very unlikely. Asbestos was in old plasterboard as fire resistant but insulation like that was reserved for old ships.
I am sure your local environmental officer will confirm.

The only thing to worry about in house ceilings is Artex. A material used as far as I know up to the 1980’s. It was used for making decorative patterns on ceilings. If your ceiling is plain it is most likely plasterboard and harmless

Just looks like standard fiberglass insulation, just very itchy if your having to man handle it, my loft is full of it as are most others

Parcel tape and a binbag for tonight, to seal the gap. And then vacuum the floor underneath tonight before the toddlers go too close. Doesn’t look like anything particularly nasty but probably still itchy.

Thankyou everyone for the replies, really appreciate it. 😊 I was so worried especially for my children. It is a relief to know. We have had it closed up and got a little air filter hoping it picks up any floating dust.
