I’ve got a plastic coated tin shed roof, box profile tin I think it’s called, that is rusting at the point where It touches a steel girder.the sheeting is unavailable to replace so thinking about getting some fibre glass matting and putting that over the top.has anyone any experience doing this and if so did it work ok.

It’s just about a foot from the end that’s getting wholey.the sheets are about 10 metres long and woukd need to cover 15/18metre width

Ah, Nick that's (na)ckered, BER or whatever else you'd like to call a worn out roof!;) A few sheets in the colour of your choice would be my way forward. Whatever you do you'll have to come back to it sooner so why waste time now but spend time & some £'s and fix it properly. Only advantage you will have is access to the eaves of the building at the top of the pitch to doctor them prior to the repair.
I'd bolt 75mm x 50mm treated timber to whatever is under as this will space it away from the steel that's caused all the grief and use the usual fixings for timber and coloured caps. Presto.....Fixed for a long time and will see you out.

IMO no amount of jiggery-bodgery will let you turn your back as it will still be rusting away underneath! o_O

https://www.acbacon.co.uk/ Fab co and local to you and will supply the sheets & fixings and if you really need a quote to fix so you don't have to worry. The did me proud and G-father had put up my original two 1960's sheds in the past.

Could you slide some plygene (what they make gutterliner from) from H D Sharman up under the sheets?

Might buy you a few more years.

I would probably bite the bullet and replace sheets though.

Will you help clear snow?
