We have to put some cross drains in a RP4 stone track across 2 fields which has a slope in it. Has anyone used ready made concrete drainage channels with a grid on that they can recommend for this purpose.

Did you set them in 12” of concrete as recommended?I used their suggestion of kerb stones standing up 50mm - cheap and worked far better than I thought
The RPA have been asked and have said it must be constructed using one of two techniques listed in their eligibility requirements and specifications otherwise on inspection might be treated as a specification breach.Seen it done with crash barriers both square and w type
Sorry, 60mm. Only thing that didn’t agree with then was the steel tracks on the 16t Komatsu which chipped one but still fine. Yes, I did , although the shuttering might have tapered a bit at the bottomDid you set them in 12” of concrete as recommended?
I was forced by CSF officer to have cross drains in our application in order to get grant for concreting yard but likewise unsure what to do.The RPA have been asked and have said it must be constructed using one of two techniques listed in their eligibility requirements and specifications otherwise on inspection might be treated as a specification breach.
Having consulted the RPA my CSF officer has conceded that her initial recommendation as to what to do for the cross drains does not meet the options requirements so I want to follow them as close as possible so as not to have refusal to pay for not only the cross drains but also the track. The option payment of £750 should be enough to be able to do it correctly and just wanted to know if anyone had used any pre cast ones successfully for simplicity or to follow ploughman1963’s option.I was forced by CSF officer to have cross drains in our application in order to get grant for concreting yard but likewise unsure what to do.
Google catchment sensitive and crossdrains and you find the CSF guys recommend crash barriers/use them as examples of good practice e.g. https://severnestuarypartnership.or...es/2/2018/10/Severn-Estuary-Forum-SLM-CSF.pdf
Speak directly to CSF guys and they recommend the crash barriers as it's effective and practical to clean with the heel of your wellies.
Personally, I find cattle refuse to cross any gridded drains we have in yard and do not fancy driving over a 60mm protruding kerbstones multiple times a day.
My current thought is to go with crash barriers and run risk of them picking up at an inspection/argue it out then.
would you be able to put up a picture?Sorry, 60mm. Only thing that didn’t agree with then was the steel tracks on the 16t Komatsu which chipped one but still fine. Yes, I did , although the shuttering might have tapered a bit at the bottom
RPA were happy with these - and they work remarkably well.would you be able to put up a picture?
my original thought was to use box section crash barrier, get a grid cut for it, but thinking maybe not now.
i can see they would. Ive got some cross drains to put in a concrete yard original thought was, box section crash barrier set in plenty of concrete, with a grate made for the top. with a weir welded in it to collect sediment then a outlet into drain. but doesnt really line up with written standards.RPA were happy with these - and they work remarkably well.
